BCP plans protests against BPC bills

The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) has publicised plans to hold a demonstration in five Gaborone constituencies on Sunday to protest against the high electricity bills that Batswana are subjected to despite the faulty system used by Botswana Power Corporation (BPC).

BCP administrative secretary, Thato Osupile, says due to high volumes of complainants they receive, they will launch a campaign against BPC and the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP)  in an effort to raise awareness around this important matter.

"For a very long time, Batswana have been complaining about high electricity bills," Osupile says. "The BCP Gaborone Region has decided to launch a prolonged campaign to protest against these high electricity bills."
