BCP markets agricultural policy

The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) has put up its draft policy on Agriculture and Rural Development for public critique.

According to the party's executive secretary, Kagiso Tshwene, the BCP is convinced that Botswana's failure in agriculture is due to failed policy rather than climate change or drought.

"The consequence is that our country has become over-dependent on imported food items which further contribute to the economic marginalization of Batswana especially those living in rural areas," reads the draft policy.
