FRANCISTOWN: The leader of the Botswana Congress Party(BCP) Dumelang Saleshando on Saturday told a political gathering that it is surprising that despite the country's huge size Batswana in urban areas continue to be in dire need of land.

Speaking at the march for land rally Saleshando said sparsely populated Botswana should have enough land for its people given that it is roughly the size of France, which has over 65 million citizens.

However, Saleshando said that Batswana have been unable to access land because most of it is held for speculative reasons by the rich and the elite.
