Botswana Congress Party (BCP) leaders, secretary general Dr Kesetegile Gobotswang and former president of the party, Michael Dingake, attended the state funeral of South African legend, Albertina Sisulu who died a fortnight ago.

Speaking in an interview in Gaborone on their return from South Africa yesterday, Gobotswang said that that they took the decision to attend the funeral because Sisulu was a revolutionary and that as a party they want to maintain strong ties with organisations outside Botswana.

He noted that Dingake played a part in the South African struggle against apartheid, therefore it was fitting for BCP to attend the funeral. He further noted that the respect South Africans give their icons is exemplary.
