FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) executive committee will meet over the weekend in Gaborone and hammer out a report on the proposal by members that the party should start talks with the Umbrella for Democratic Party (UDC).

Members of the party executive have in recent weeks been consulting members across the country to hear views on the possibility of joining the UDC.

The BCP recently concluded its consultations. Although party officials would not be drawn into discussing all details of the weekend meeting, Mmegi has it on good authority that the party’s leadership is expected to greenlight the talks with the UDC.
