BCP hits back at AP

In a press statement released this afternoon, the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) has responded to the Alliance for Progressives' (AP) withdrawal from cooperation talks with the Botswana Labour Party (BLP) and the BCP.

In the statement, the BCP explains that they met with the AP and the BLP on the 17th of April,2023 of with the hope to finalise talks, “and on developing an electoral vehicle that will facilitate a credible and sustainable change of government in 2024.”

According to the BCP it is at this meeting that the AP told them of their intention to withdraw from the negotiations.
