Bazezuru swamp F-town after pilgrimage

FRANCISTOWN: Members of the Johane Apostle Church of God known as 'Bazezuru' crowded the streets and sidewalks of Francistown on Tuesday at the end of their annual five-day pilgrimage.

Thousands of Bazezuru women draped in their trademark white silk garbs and head doeks; and long bearded men with clean-shaven heads swamped the town after they dispersed from their praying ground in the bushes near Shashe Mooke lands.

Church members had converged from all over the country and beyond to embark on the marathon worshipping ceremony that involved night vigils, song, prayer and fasting.
