Batlokwa question transfer of land to state

Kgosi Ramonnye Matlapeng of Tlokweng has charged that the state has taken over land that belongs to Batlokwa with a dubious transfer deed.

 Speaking at a stakeholders' workshop at the Tlokweng Landboard offices recently, Matlapeng wanted to know about the land that he said belongs to the Batlokwa under the British South Africa Company Act.

He said under this act the company leased land in Gaborone Block, Lobatse Block and Tuli Block, with the understanding that at the lapse of the lease, the land would revert to its previous owners.
