Basinyi now a free man

Victor Basinyi, who was charged with living beyond his means by the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC), has been granted a permanent stay of prosecution by the Lobatse High Court.

The ruling was made by Justice Lakhvinder Walia last week.

In his application, Basinyi felt that his right to a fair trial within a reasonable time has been infringed upon.
