BAMB CEO 'shocked' at credit card abuse

Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board (BAMB) CEO, Masego Mphathi, on Friday described as shocking, revelations by a whistleblower about a top manager of his who has been using a company credit card to sponsor her personal life.

Mphathi declared that the business credit card is not designed for personal use, but purely to cover expenses incurred by a manager while on official duty.

"Some of this abuse happens without our knowledge; recently one of my senior managers (referring to the internal auditor) came to me to confess that she has been abusing the credit card. She revealed that she used it for fueling her car with the aim to refund the company later.
