BALA secures Euro 2.1mil funding

Botswana Association of Local Authorities (BALA) has secured 2.1 million Euros from the European Commission office of European Aid Cooperation to fund two projects.

The president of BALA, Kentse Rammidi, made this announcement at the launch of the BALA website and logo on Tuesday at the Big Five Lodge in Gaborone. Rammidi said one of their projects, 'Transparent Local Governance', is to support the decentralisation process through accountable governance and transparency. 

He added that the second project, 'Local Leadership for Growth' is to provide local authorities with an analytical framework and an organisational set that will improve dialogue between the business community and the local authority.
