Asylum seekers setting home at Dukwi

FRANCISTOWN: After fleeing into Botswana about a fortnight ago, majority of the Zimbabwean asylum seekers who were temporarily housed at the Centre for Illegal Immigrants were on Wednesday transferred to the Dukwi Refugee camp.

Their move to the refugee camp has settled a majority of the asylum seekers who feared for their lives in the event the Botswana government and its stakeholders declined to welcome them.

Bhekimpilo Weza, 29, from Victoria Falls town in Zimbabwe was last Wednesday very happy that the Botswana government authorities had finally listened to their pleas for protection from the ZANU-PF militiamen who call themselves war veterans association.
