As October beckons

As the nation readies for the national general elections it is a three horse race between the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) and Botswana Congress Party (BCP). Of course, a number of independent candidates, majority of whom from the ruling party, have thrown their hats in the ring.

But the focus is really on the three contesting parties and the manifestos they have unveiled to outline the policies and promises for the next five years. The manifestos have covered the party’s policies on, among other things, youth development, mineral and energy, land, economic growth, education and diversification as well as improving the health sector.
