Many of them come from good families. Their relatives are happy that the students are studying abroad - and proud of them.

What they do not know is that the students have become a laughing stock in that country as they have been accused of prostitution.

"It is an open secret that certain nightspots in Kuala Lumpur where foreigners gather are known to be pick up joints for women of certain nationalities...These women carry glamourous names like Glory, Sophea, Steffie, Joey, Sarfee, Prescia, Naomi or Jim... They are aged between 20 and 30 and claim to be from Ghana, Tanzania, Togo, Cameroon, Botswana and Nigeria" said a recent edition of Malaysia's StarMetro.
