The Alliance for Progressives (AP) has clarified that a cluster led by former Mogoditshane legislator, Sedirwa Kgoroba is not a faction but rather a Mogoditshane group with a few disgruntled members.

During a press conference held recently, Kgoroba revealed that together with a few others have split from the AP because the party leadership has decided to join the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).

The emergence of the faction comes after Botswana Congress Party (BCP) and its ally, Botswana Labour Party (BLP) were dumped by the AP leadership in their cooperation talks, a decision that has divided the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) splinter party.
