Anti-riot police trucks not yet registered

The recently purchased Botswana Police Service (BPS) anti-riot vehicles would not be used should any riots erupt in the country.

This is because the vehicles have not been registered at the Department of Road Transport and Safety. BPS spokesman Christopher Mbulawa confirmed yesterday that the registration of the vehicles is ongoing.

He explained that that was the reason why the vehicles could not be used at the graduation ceremony of police officers who were trained in peacekeeping at the Otse Police College last week.
