Anti-Riot Police Stop UB Students Demo

Pandemonium broke out at the University of Botswana (UB) when students decided to go on an illegal strike in a bid to deliver a petition to the Ministry of Education and Skills Development last Friday.

The students, who decided to march to the MoE head offices without a police permit, were stopped in their tracks by the police at the Gaborone Secondary School (GSS) grounds and driven back to the university campus.

Trouble started after the Student Representative Council (SRC) revealed its plan to the students.
