Alleged cattle rustler to await bail bid from cells

FRANCISTOWN: A suspected cattle rustler is still to know if he will be granted bail after Senior Magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu said on Friday that he was still to consider his application.

Jeffrey Gona, of Semitwe village, appeared before Mulalu pleading to be released so he could commute from his home for trial in a case in which he is facing stock theft charges.

But state prosecutor Gasemotho Pitlagano opposed the application leaning heavily on evidence he collected from investigating officer, Bazati Phushedi, of Tatitown police.
