Visitors and staff at the recently built multi-million Ministry of Health headquarters have been feeling the heat in recent months after the air-conditioning system seized-up. Colo Boitshoko, Public Relations Officer for the ministry confirmed to Mmegi that the system has been dysfunctional for the last five months.

He indicated that they have long informed the Department of Buildings and Engineering Services (DBES) about the problem but so far, nothing has happened. Officers at the ministry indicated that the heat inside the building becomes unbearable on some days.

"The building has no windows so in most summer days, you have to work in the sweltering heat," explained one officer who did not want to be named.
