AIDS scare at Dikgatlhong dam

ROBELELA: There are fears of escalation of HIV infections in Robelela and surrounding villages as the construction of Dikgatlhong Dam, planned to be the biggest in the country, gets underway.

An influx of job seekers is expected in Robelela as a result of employment opportunities that might rise as a result of the massive dam project scheduled for completion in 2011.

During a recent groundbreaking ceremony to kick-start the construction of the dam, Minerals, Energy and Water Resources Minister, Ponatshego Kedikilwe said citizen medical practitioners had been invited for the provision of HIV/AIDS counselling services at the site.
