'Aggrieved' Tonota farmers must wait

Farmers from the Tonota region will enjoy a little more time with their remaining cattle herds as they await the ruling in a case in which they are suing government over the slaughter of their cattle after the outbreak of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in August.

This was after Village Magistrate Justice Garekwe extended an interdiction issued by the court against slaughtering of their cattle.

Following submissions of head of arguments by defence attorney Duma Boko in Gaborone yesterday, Garekwe extended the interdiction to November 28, while reserving the judgement for November 18 or an earlier date if possible.
