Accountant General takes custody of 'Daisy Loo cheque'

In a major upset to Daisy Loo Cleaning Company, the Court of Appeal has issued a restraining order barring the company and its Managing Director, Moemedi Dijeng, from the P25 million cheque awarded it by the same court in 2006.

The order comes after the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) launched an appeal last year against a High Court dismissal of the state's application for a restraining order.

The court has also ordered Daisy Loo and Moemedi Dijeng to pay the costs of the litigation, including the service of two advocates that the DPP hired for its appeal.
