FRANCISTOWN: Tatitown Primary School is still lying idle almost 10 years after it closed. The school was closed following its relocation to the new Tatitown Primary School situated opposite the new Francistown International Airport terminal. The old school is still sitting unoccupied, even though then Vice-President Ian Khama had recommended it be made available for civic and community use. Residents cry foul that the school that could have been used to develop their location but instead it is aiding crime in an area already known for its high crime rates. Jefty Tsheriwa, 29 who lives next to the school said that they see all sorts of crime going on in the school. He said that some people can just go to the school and take whatever they want.  "It is really bad.  People are stealing, others are vandalising. Some can just come and take the roofing material or anything they want and as you can see the walls are painted in vulgar language," he said.
