A family in Oodi is still recovering from the traumatic death of a seven-year-old son who drowned and in a septic tank at home.

The incident took place last Sunday afternoon. Broadhurst station commander, Obusitswe Lokae confirmed the tragic incident to Mmegi Online.

Lokae said that the boy was in the company of his five-year-old cousin and his mother on the fateful day.

“The mother left them watching TV at home to find out something from the neighbours. She was not long at the neighbours but she returned home only to find her son dead”, the Police boss revealed.

Mmegi Online has been informed that the septic tank was full of wastewater. “We don’t suspect any foul play at the moment but we are investigating further to corroborate the mother’s version,” the Police said further pleading with the public to be extra careful with minors.
