What is in a name?

A powerful thing to have. A name. It defines people, allows them different personalities or not. Space to be more of yourself as the stage becomes your universe.

Maya Roze aka Palesa Bautloane. Maya because I like the way it sounds as well as a weird admirable for the masochistic Mayan tribe of South America and Roze because Palesa means flower and well, a rose is a type of flower aaaaand I rise everyday to reach higher heights.

A stage name is a pseudonym (google that – cant spell err’thang for ya’!) used by performers and entertainers. We change our names because Lesego, Matlhogonolo or Palesa (already got a jazz band founded by Don Laka, so couldn’t use it you know) is considered unattractive, dull, unintentionally amusing or difficult to pronounce or spell; or because it has been used by another notable individual or because it projects a form of an undesired image.
