‘Wassa The Comedian’ looks set to make a name

While the comedy industry in Botswana is shunned by many, upcoming comedian Oboile Onalenna who identifies himself as 'Wassa The Comedian’, does not share the same sentiments.

His passion has driven him to believe the industry could become as fruitful like any other. ‘Wassa The Comedian’ acknowledges that the comedy industry is currently like an orphaned child, which makes it difficult for them to succeed.

Despite it being a tough terrain to walk on, the youngster believes he is up for the challenge and ready to make a name for himself. “In these present times, I do realise and acknowledge that it is hard to live from comedy alone but my passion and the drive for comedy will keep me going,” ‘Wassa The Comedian’ said. Furthermore, the 20-year-old said when he started comedy, his journey was not all rosés as he had expected it to turn out to be.
