FRANCISTOWN: In an effort to promote live bands, which are in short supply in the city, musicians from the past have teamed up with upcoming musicians to achieve that aim.

The experienced and debutants have formed a group called Ghetto Live Bands Forum.

The group was formed early this year to promote live music that has been experiencing a slow and painful extinction in the country’s second city. The forum’s chairperson, Canaan Ndaba told Showbiz in an interview that the forum was formed to alert lovers of live music that there are many live bands operating in the city although they have over the years been overlooked by the business community and festival organisers. Ndaba told Showbiz that the forum is currently made up of 10 live bands that exist in Francistown but there are others who are yet to register with the forum.
