Underdogs get poetry slam chance

Poetry underdogs got an opportunity to perform on a large scale during the Maitisong Festival Poetry Slam at Thapong Visual Arts Centre last week. Close to 20 unknown spoken word artists took turns on stage to entertain the audience with their spoken word abilities.

At the end of the night, upcoming poetess Mimi Koyabe was crowned the best poet for this year’ slam.

Poets such as Tankie Sentsho, Kunta, Deep, Bakang and Mmegi scribe Mompati Tlhankane took part during the slam.
