Conceptualised by the UB’s Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) fourth year class, with facilitation from Tefo Paya and Gao Lemmenyane, the work takes a look at how apartheid, a system of racial discrimination and separation in South Africa that took root from 1948 until its abolition in the early 1990s, affected Botswana.
The play opens with different colours scattered across the stage to represent people fleeing South Africa to seek refugee in countries such as Botswana.
It underscores the indispensable role women play in our society, particularly in building strong households and nurturing families.
