Telling native stories on stage

Mama Theatre Group took the indigenous route to tell the story of Lentswe la Baratani in a performance titled Baratani - The Hill of Lovers at Maitisong Theatre on Monday.

Prolific stage performers, Mpho Rabotsima and former Big Brother Africa (BBA) contestant, Goitse Kgaswane, are the leads in the roles of Karabo and Lerato respectively.  Thomas Mpoeleng directed the play.

Baratani - The Hill of Lovers is a play, which tells the story of two young lovebirds whose parents were against their relationship.  The parents backed by the culture and tradition of the society had arranged marriages for the two.
