After excelling in short-story writing, award winning Botswana author, Legodile Seganabeng (alias Dredd X) has penned a full novel. Entitled Josie, the paperback version of the novel published by Black Crake Books should be in book stores in 2014.

The book is a gripping story about Josie, a woman who pulled all the stops to rescue her son from abductors. Set in Botswana, the novel is full of action, murder, adventure, betrayal and suspense.

“It is so thrilling to see young Batswana pursuing a career in writing. Writing is such a self-gratifying profession. It is like you are sharing your imagination with the world, and having people like Seganabeng signed up is such a delight,” president of Black Crake Books, Nick Green said. Seganabeng is a recorded poet, published writer, spoken word performer, guitarist, graphic designer and a teacher of Art and Design. He is the founder and chairperson of the Maun based NGO, Poetavango Spoken Word Poetry movement. In 2010, he won the Bessie Head Literature Award in the short story category. In early 2012, he was one of the 14 Botswana poets whose works featured in prestigious literary journal, Prairie Schooner, a publication of the University of Nebraska. Early this year he won an international short story competition in Egypt. He continues to write poetry, fiction (novels and short stories) and non-fiction articles for newspapers and magazines.
