Raskanta reflects the political side of music

The much-anticipated and talked-about short film, Raskanta reminds one that music is not only a tool for entertain but is also used to impart political views. Raskanta is an Afro-futuristic short film production that premiered on Monday alongside others produced by the just-graduated AFDA alumni. The film was a group effort.

The film’s storyline spoke of how music had been banned in the country as a number of musicians were using it as a propaganda tool against the ruling government of that time.  It is set in the future in the 2030s.

Raskanta, a young girl, who comes from a musical family is the film’s protagonist who is the chosen one to save her oppressed community that is being denied different forms of liberty.
