Phonchi finds her voice in poetry

For Nametso Dorothy Phonchi poetry offers a comfort zone where she freely unleashes her emotions without fear. Known as Phopho to her associates, she has been blowing audiences with her passionate rhymes since she was 14-years old.

With an intense, no-nonsense attitude she tackles mostly serious issues in her poetry. She has pieces on love, women, children and societal challenges.

“My poetry is inspired by what I see and hear on a daily basis. I deeply see myself as a brand new idea from heaven whose thoughts and footprints of poetry will be reflected as smiles on people’s faces in my demise,” she said.
