Peace Cop turns musical calling into message of peace

Keetile Bontsibokae, whose stage name is Peace Cop, recently released a 10-track afro disco album titled Dikgang Di Mo Bathong, marking yet another chapter in a musical journey that began during his childhood.

Although some may regard him as a newcomer, he is the masculine voice of sibling trio that makes Baetsana Trio Music Group that is behind Merwalo. The group previously dropped O Itshoke in 2012 and I Do in 2016.

“I say Baetsana Trio for life,” he said, dismissing any suggestion that he has separated from the group. Born in Kopong and raised at Bokaa, his mother was a singer with Tlhape choir, while his father and uncles were also involved in music and entertainment. As a child, he imitated his father by creating makeshift sound systems and staging pretend performances with friends and siblings.
