Music to Life organisation hosted its very first big event, Acafest, at the Stanbic Bank Piazza over the weekend. It featured a star-studded line up of vocal super groups, bringing together the best talent to showcase the incredible power of the human voice.

The purpose of the event was to celebrate Acappella music, while also recognising the country’s Acappella groups. One of the groups who performed on the night included Maatla Gospel Choir who produced powerful hymns among their many songs.  Another group Honour in Song showcased their varied talent including beatbox collectives and sublime vocals. In addition, St John Metsimotlhabe also known as Ma14 serenaded the crowd with uplifting songs including clap and tap songs. Victory Voices also came on stage to show that an all-men powerhouse can still bring the house down.

The festival was jam-packed with showcase performances, having singers and music-lovers joining some other experts in this vocal event for vocal harmony music. All the groups performed a wide range of genres including funk, folk, pop, soul, gospel and R&B.
