Motswana creates ditaola inspired game

Inspired by traditional divination bones of ditaola, a 30-year-old medical doctor from Gumare Dr Dithapelo Medupe has created a game using mathematics used in computers (binary code).

For most of Batswana, ditaola are known to be something that traditional doctors interpret but it had never occurred to anyone that the logic behind the use of ditaola could be used to innovate anything, let alone a game.

But a medical student in UK’s Stanford University at the time, Medupe decided to use her brilliance and come up with a game that nobody had thought of. After realising that ditaola use mathematics similar to the binary code, Medupe embarked on a mission to create the game.
