Maitisong, MYSC collude in Old Naledi music fiesta

Maitisong has joined hands with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture (MYSC) in the celebration of this year’s famous outdoor music festival, re-branded Old Naledi Fiesta 2016.

Previously known as Old Naledi Outdoor Music Festival, it is scheduled to take place on August 5-6. Maitisong spokesperson Gao Lemmenyane said they found it fit to celebrate 50 years of artistic excellence in Botswana.

“The festival will take place at Gaborone Bus Rank, Bontleng Mall and Old Naledi soccer field. This corporate social investment has been celebrated for two decades with the aim to take the festival to the people free of charge, demonstrating that the arts are for everyone,” he said. He added that for years the festival has been able to provide upcoming and established artists a platform to showcase their talent to the general public and thus gained most of them a large fan base. The festival has also given upcoming artists the opportunity to engage with and learn from established ones.
