Local acts raise funds for ailing student

Local artists took to the stage Friday night to raise funds for a Limkokwing University of Creative Technology student suffering from a chronic illnesses.

The concert was one of the many initiatives that Limkokwing students have embarked on to fund raise for  fellow student Thato Gaotlhobogwe, a fourth year Entrepreneurship student, suffering from chronic kidney disease and renal failure. The students plan to raise P750, 000 for Gaotlhobogwe's transplant.

Answering their call were some of Botswana's leading musicians. Attendance was, however, disappointing, forcing the show organisers to delay the start of the show by three hours. Thankfully, the artists lived to expectation. The show opened with one of young gospel artists, Bakani, followed by energetic gospel rappers, Tornado and Dj Phazz. But it was the arrival of headline acts, Team Distant, Scar and Wizards that brought the house down.
