Legare goes south

Gifted Motswako rapper, Raymond Toitoi, popularly known as Legare, has landed a deal at South Africa’s Thunder Storm. The move will see him sell and market his music in South Africa after parting ways with Heaven Sent Productions.

Legare said he was not happy at HSP because his contractual agreements were not fulfilled. In addition to that, the musician and his management team clashed with online music publisher, Itumeleng Garebatshabe over ring tone sales.

“HSP is a great studio.  I’m not badmouthing (the studio), but I wasn’t happy because the contract wasn’t even fulfilled. We also met the great Zenzele Hirschfield and I thought she would push the brand. But that never happened,” he told Showbiz. Legare said how things turned out greatly influenced his decision to take his music to the neighbouring country.  He has landed a deal with Thunder Storm from Mafikeng. But he is well aware that the move will require him to switch his style to suit an international audience.
