Kurly Roots will showcase a variety of natural hairstyles that all hair lovers can embrace at The University of Botswana's Visual and Performing Arts Centre (VAPA) today.

Kurly Roots is a public communication campaign aiming to endorse better treatment of natural hair and to purposely serve as a platform that advocates for the better treatment and full embrace of natural hair.

Kemo Segotso who is the campaign manager told Arts & Culture that after conducting a bit of research and interpreting it, there was discovery that not everyone understands their scientific hair patterns and texture. “It is even worse when one get to salons that don’t offer professional natural hair services and having to pay extra money to get hair treatments and styles because management claims your hair is ‘difficult’,” she said.  She added that they want to encourage hair salons to cater more to the various hair spectrums out there within the services they provide, especially natural hair.
