Hamptons show on despite revocation of permit

The promoters of the much-anticipated Hamptons Jazz Festival are adamant that the show will proceed as planned on March 23 at Duma FM grounds despite the revocation of the permit from Gaborone City Council (GCC).

GCC communicated through a Facebook post on BWGovernment page indicating that the permit issued to the Hamptons Promoters on the February 9, 2018 by the GCC Bye Law Officer was erroneous.

“Council has no authority to issue permits on loud music beyond midnight unless the event is to be held in a sound proof facility or in an isolated area” read the statement in part.
