Ahit single, Girly O Dibody by Botshelo Moshweu, popularly known as Girly-O-Dibody, has gained popularity in the local music industry since the first day it was released early this year.

The trap music genre singer’s song gained popularity after being aired by various local radio stations. As if that was not enough, the 25-year-old single proved to be a hit song amongst her new-found fans during the popular DJ Sly’s RB2 show where it beat one of the best up-coming local artists, Ban T’s hit track Naomi earlier this month. Her popularity continued after she performed in Btv’s Flava Dome as the number of followers surged in social media. She said she has since got positive feedback from her fans that are awaiting the song’s video. “Since performing at Flava Dome the response has been overwhelming. I appreciate the support I am given by Batswana and promise to always give them my best. I urge my fans to keep up their support as it is important for me,” she said. The young bootilicious woman said the song came as a joke when her producer Thato Modukanele aka Gustos was playing with the beats. She said at the time, being bored, the beats caught her attention and she started humming ‘Girly O Dibody’ repeatedly. She said that was when Gustos told her that she could write a complete song as he realised that her melodies were matching the rhythm (beats).

“I later wrote the song with the help of Bangu. I was surprised of the outcome,” she said.
