Preparations for this year's Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) awards are on schedule, BOMU president Bafana Pheto has told Showbiz.

The awards ceremony will be hosted at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on December 13.  Pheto told Showbiz that artists have started registering and submitting their works.  The closing date for submission of works is November 9.

Pheto said they will finalise all preparations before time though they are still negotiating with sponsors.  He said they have already secured sponsorship from the Department of Arts and Culture.  Last year, BOMU introduced the Miss BOMU beauty pageant as one of the countdown activities to the awards. Given the short period of time left, Pheto said they are not going to organise the beauty pageant this year.
