Dithubaruba Cultural Festival committee holds symposium

The Dithubaruba Cultural Festival committee has organised a symposium, which will be held at the University of Botswana (UB) Center For Continuing Education (CCE Room 4) on Thursday.

The symposium, which is part of the build-up activities for the 10th anniversary of Dithubaruba Cultural Festival, will feature presentations by experts from different fields.  “The symposium is meant to unpack the concept, Dithubaruba, by presenting its various aspects such as settlement, leadership, theology, migration, missionary work, nation building and literature,” a statement from the committee reads.

Speakers on the day will include, poet and academic, Barolong Seboni, who will present on ‘Heritage and history as literary sources’, Kgosi Keineetse Sebele will speak on ‘Dithubaruba Settlement’ while Dr. Seratwa Ntloedibe will share the ‘Theology of Sechele 1’ with the audience.
