Talented RnB/Neo Soul star, Christopher ‚ÄúChris Robson‚ÄĚ Natshi is dropping his second single titled Mama, this Friday. Chris Robson told Showbiz that the song was inspired by his own situation.

“I did it with my mother in mind. She has been there for my siblings and me since our father passed on when I was 10. Her support and strong will has brought me this far,” he said. The single will give fans a taste of what to expect in his impending album, titled The Love Angel expected to hit the shelves in September.

The song as the title suggests, is a tribute to women for the big role they play as mothers and the strength they show in bringing up children.

The song celebrates mothers and recognises the good work they do despite the challenges some of them face as single parents.

The song, which is in Kalanga, is exquisitely done, and is guaranteed to catch music lovers’s attention regardless of whether some understands the language or not. Chris Robson’s silky voice harmonises well with instrumentation, to form a sound, which is friendly to the ear. The lyrics will surely make mothers feel extremely special, including the singer’s mother who obviously has planted a positive lasting memory in his mind.

Here are samples of some of the rich lyrics in the song:

Maka ndi kudza musina tjamunatjo/muwa mu muka siku ne sikati/ kuti ndi muke ndi li nthu bo mangwana (You raised me with barely nothing/ day and night/ so that I can be a somebody/ in the future).

Andi kumbula kwatinodwa mama..mundi dhiya butjilo/ makandidwa mukati buthu go zhula mikoba yose/musipo ndo be ndi li ngayi nasi/ndo boka mama (I remember how far we’ve come/your life lessons/when you told me discipline/ will open doors for you/where would I be without you..thank you mama).

Chris Robson features Apollo D in his latest single. The young man who hails from Tsamaya village, roughly 30 kilometres north east of Francistown, decided to embark on a solo career last year after having long worked and networked with different players in the industry.

He released his first single Not Everything last year October.
