Black Crake Books calls for manuscript

Local publishing house, Black Crake Books is calling out for manuscript submissions for the #Fifty@Fifty campaign in celebration of Botswana’s 50th anniversary. After undergoing a screening process, 50 manuscripts will be chosen for free publication.

The campaign, which started on August 1, will run for a period of one year.

“Our aim is to promote Botswana’s literary voice to the world and to develop local talent. It is always disheartening to see only South African, Nigerian or Kenyan authors making a mark in African writing awards. We want to see more Batswana authors playing a part in the African literary scene.
