A dream beyond borders

At just 18 years old, Baratang took a bold step beyond the familiar, travelling from Botswana to Orlando, Florida, to compete on an international pageant stage. What began as a personal challenge and a desire to discover how far she could go ended with her being crowned Miss Legends International 2026.

For Baratang, the journey was about far more than winning a crown. It was an opportunity to represent her country, challenge herself and show that young people from the country can dream beyond borders.

“I wasn't only going there as Baratang. I was carrying my country's name with me, and I wanted to represent Botswana with pride,” she told Arts&Culture in an interview.
