Botswana Tourism Organization (BTO), in collaboration with the country’s various tourism associations and orgaibnsations like Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana (HATAB, Botswana Guides Association (BOGA), Travel Agents Association of Botswana (TAABOT), Guest Houses Association of Botswana and the Botswana Wildlife Producers Association (BWPA)) have undertaken a Domestic Travel campaign named Rediscover Botswana.
A statement says the campaign started on Monday July 27, 2020 and will end on August 22, 2020 with two media personalities, Thalefang Charles and Sonny Serite on an 8, 000 km tour around Botswana. The duo alongside, some travelers will traverse the country with the objective of igniting and inspiring domestic travel. “Rediscover Botswana” is aimed at educating and increasing awareness about Botswana’s tourism product offering in order to entice it and grow Botswana’s domestic market.

Several footprints can be found spread over vast distances, captured forever in the ancient sandstone rock. The largest measures some 340 mm / 13 inches long. Thought to be between 3, 000 to 10, 000 years-old, the footprints are actually more likely to have been created by the Basarwa people who used to inhabit the area. BTO’s primary mandate is to market and promote Botswana as a preferred destination of choice for locals, residents as well as the international community at large. BTO has also collaborated with Mascom, Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Bushtrackers and Teraffou in this expedition.
