The city of Diamond, Gaborone, came to a standstill as it was covered in glitz and glamour as all fashion roads led to the Grand Palm on Friday evening. The brand that stands to empower designers in Africa and young models yet again, for the fifth time of their existence held their extravagant fashion show.
The Fashion Without Boarders (FWB) event featured some of the best designers from Botswana and neighbouring African countries. Held under the theme “Ready To Wear” with a touch of Africa, the designers brought Africa’s dynamic cultures to the event when showcasing their unique talents from across the African continent. FWB gave fashion lovers a glimpse of the current fashion trends across Africa.
FWB gives designers a lot of exposure and a chance to showcase their talent to fashion lovers and aspiring fashion designers. It takes those who have the immense love for fashion through the journey of style. The designers showcased their versatile collections. All the designers, from both local and foreign shores came up with unique interesting African designs, which kept the fashion lovers on their
Lebang Setso Designs included skirts, tops, trousers made of leather, which were really unique from other designs and making them to stand out from others. Kasslistas Designs from Zambia also impressed the night as well with elegant styles made of African print material that lightened up the room.
The Mozambique fashion icon, Nivaldo Thierry’s unique elegant designs for both males and females were the most impressive of the night when his latest collection swept all fashion lovers off their feets. The designs had a variety of dresses, shorts, blouses and shirts, which were all made with a similar garment, but with different outstanding styles/looks.
The results of who won the fashion show are to be announced on the FWB page after interactions with other international judges.
