Clap 'n Tap splendour at Botho

Lighthouse Theatre Promotions promises to bring a night of ecstasy, splendour and spiritual upliftment during the upcoming Clap and Tap Music Festival that would be held at Botho University on April 28, 2018.

Lighthouse Theatre Promotions founder Mashumba Mashumba said the mouthwatering Clap n Tap Music Festival dubbed ‘Lobebe lwa mmino wa Seposetolo’ was expected to bring gospel music lovers a time of their life when the most followed and prominent Botswana and South African gospel choirs share the stage.

“The choirs expected to partake in the much anticipated festival include the 2017 BOMU Awards Clap n Tap choir under the chairmanship of Baone Seloka. The choir has proven to be a rock to reckon with since its inception in May 2015. The Magical Harmonies, as Maatla gospel choir is affectionately called, has vowed as the torch bearers and cradle of Clap n Tap locally,” he said.

The newly established Soul Redeemers aka The Genius is expected to make the second local choir. Mashumba said the choir had proven to be the best through its previous performances. The Clap n Tap devotees received it with ululation and jubilance.

International choirs that would showcase at the event include Isaac and The Mighty Messengers Gospel and Hophethehile Church

choirs. They are both from Johannesburg in SA. The two choirs are not new to Botswana as they captivated many gospel loving hearts late last year. Isaac and The Mighty Messengers Gospel would be making its second appearance to Botswana after the November 2016 Clap n Tap festival. There will also be a special maiden appearance by Motheo wa Emmanuel Gospel Choir from Rustenburg on the lineup.

“The Lighthouse Annual Festival is pioneered towards growing and promoting Clap n Tap music in Botswana. We believe in judging a man not only by his words but also by his deeds.  Since its initiation in 2016 Clap n Tap in Botswana is growing in leaps and bounds. The festival has opened great opportunities for local choirs. It has collapsed the boundaries that hindered choirs from penetrating the international market,” he noted.

The festival is expected to kickstart at 6pm at Botho University. Tickets are sold at P200 VIP and P150 for normal and they can be acquired from the Lighthouse team.
